Hi folks, Steve Rouse here. Well, it’s taken me a while to figure out the “next thing”, but I believe I have with these stories. From growing up in a small town in the 50’s and 60’s to a crazy morning show and our band, to an organic farm and a slightly scandalous BnB, I’m sharing my journey with all the humorous twists and turns this old baby boomer has experienced along the way.  Plus, I share a lifestyle, we call “Steve Style” full of growing veggies, having a flock of chickens, keeping bees, heating with wood,  cutting firewood, and being one of Mother Nature’s closest friends.

Listen in the car or read and watch at lunch, in bed or sitting on the … you know. I hope you enjoy!

In this video, I join Heather, a first-year beekeeper, to walk through her two hives during an August inspection. Together we take a close look at a strong, thriving colony and a weaker hive that needs some extra attention. Along the way, I share practical tips for beginners—how to read brood patterns, spot honey stores, deal with hive beetles, use queen excluders, and rearrange frames for better colony growth. Beekeeping is never one-size-fits-all, and this...

I didn’t realize today is National Radio Day. I’ve noticed a few posts from my radio brethren with incredible resumes. My resume is not as impressive. I bounced around in small markets for many years until I got my break to come to Baltimore. I never felt a connection with a city and it’s people like I felt here almost immediately when I arrived in 1985. I never wanted to leave to find another job!...

Even though you’ve harvested much of your summer garden, that doesn’t mean it’s over. I’m a big proponent of the fall garden. There’s a lot of advantages to the fall garden. As long as you plant veggies that have time to mature or can take a light frost by mid October, Let’s Do It!!

Now that the dust has settled after the Orioles Hall of Fame Weekend, and the induction of my former show mate Tom Davis, a few photos I took at Friday’s Hall of Fame luncheon in the warehouse at Camden Yards. My grandson Jacob-He looks so happy!  That’s the day before I backed into his car. I had the great privilege to sit next to WJZ’s Ron Matz.  I thought so highly of Ron over the years,...

Well, this past weekend was a tough one for my grandson Jacob. Jake, sister Alexx and their mom, my daughter Shelby came for the weekend.  Jake wanted to drive his new car, so they all piled in and down from Syracuse they came. Things started out badly Friday evening when Shelby said she was going to run up to the drug store to get something and Jake handed the keys over to his mother. Apparently...
