Garden Update from 7/26/25

This is a tough time of the season for the backyard garden. I can’t tell you how many people have started off with a beautiful garden, come home from their week or two away on a summer vacation, to find their garden now overwhelmed with weeds and yucky looking plants.  So many have thrown in the towel at this point.  It’s to bad because there’s still a lot of good stuff in there that you worked hard on.

My only advice is to get that garden pristine before you leave, then it won’t be quite so bad when you return.  Is it really worth it?  Bite into a tomato from the store and then take a bite of a tomato from your garden. Yup, it’s worth it.

What’s your favorite home grown veggie? What do you like to make with what you’ve grown?

About the author

You might remember me from my broadcasting career, namely The Rouse and Company Show. Perhaps you know me as Farmer Steve from your visits to our farm. Others may remember me from my music career and the parody songs. Oh, and I should welcome those of you who don’t have a clue who I am. I think you’ll get to know me pretty well after reading or listening to a few of my stories.
