The saga of the brand new car

Well, this past weekend was a tough one for my grandson Jacob. Jake, sister Alexx and their mom, my daughter Shelby came for the weekend.  Jake wanted to drive his new car, so they all piled in and down from Syracuse they came. Things started out badly Friday evening when Shelby said she was going to run up to the drug store to get something and Jake handed the keys over to his mother. Apparently she hit the curb with the low hanging front end on Jacob’s car when she pulled in to park at the store. Jake was none to happy when he took a look at all the deep scratches on her return.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, Jake and I were off to pick up pizza Saturday. Now, I’m not used to another car parked behind me in our driveway and as I backed up I heard a blood curdling scream,”MY CAR!!”  That was a split second before I backed into his new car.  You can tell by the pictures Jake is trying to keep his composure.  Both Shelby, his mom and me, his grandpa felt horrible messing up his new car.
Do any of you have any memories of a parent or grandparent screwing up something of yours?  Love to hear them.  Maybe it will help me not feel so bad.

About the author

You might remember me from my broadcasting career, namely The Rouse and Company Show. Perhaps you know me as Farmer Steve from your visits to our farm. Others may remember me from my music career and the parody songs. Oh, and I should welcome those of you who don’t have a clue who I am. I think you’ll get to know me pretty well after reading or listening to a few of my stories.
