Hi folks, Steve Rouse here. Well, it’s taken me a while to figure out the “next thing”, but I believe I have with these stories. From growing up in a small town in the 50’s and 60’s to a crazy morning show and our band, to an organic farm and a slightly scandalous BnB, I’m sharing my journey with all the humorous twists and turns this old baby boomer has experienced along the way.  Plus, I share a lifestyle, we call “Steve Style” full of growing veggies, having a flock of chickens, keeping bees, heating with wood,  cutting firewood, and being one of Mother Nature’s closest friends.

Listen in the car or read and watch at lunch, in bed or sitting on the … you know. I hope you enjoy!

The Rouse and Company morning show I hosted from 1988-2005 in Baltimore became more successful than I could have ever imagined. It was a blend of on-air players with perfectly defined roles, great program managers who guided us, and a management and ownership team that wanted to win as much as we did. During that 17-year run, WQSR was nominated and won numerous awards as America’s top large market station. Along with the typical news,...

The sun has been beating down on me all day, every day, for many years. That’s why I visit the dermatologist once a year, every year. Besides the sun, age seems to bring out more connect-the-dots games on my back, front, and head than you can imagine. Once, when I had nothing better to do, I took a magic marker to my chest and actually drew lines between various moles and eruptions that...

For most of my life, I have lived in country settings. While I’ll admit I’ve enjoyed the excitement and benefits of living an urban existence for a while, I am continually drawn back to the freedom and solitude found in the country. I like having my own land and space to do whatever I want. I do tend to be overly enthusiastic about monitoring my property lines. I’ve spent countless hours marking, surveying, and...

    The Real Steve Rouse
Hi folks, Steve here. It’s been a while. You probably thought I was dead. Let me check, nope. If your memory is unclear, let me jog it for you. You might remember me from my broadcasting career, namely The Rouse and Company Show, where I spent 17 great years hosting a party each morning for weary, rush-hour commuters. Perhaps you know me as Farmer Steve from your visits to our farm. Maybe you were fortunate...
