Born in a small town in Northern New York State, with broadcasting stops in Bangor, Charlottesville, Elmira and a few others, Steve Rouse landed in Baltimore in 1985. Starting at 92 Star, Steve’s 17 year run at his next station WQSR, hosting the Rouse and Company morning show, was the highlight of his career. The award-winning show was number one in Baltimore for years through the nineties and into the new century. During this reign, Steve’s band Stevie and the Satellites performed throughout the Baltimore Metro area, opening for some of the world’s biggest entertainers.
After the QSR years ended, there were Radio and TV stops elsewhere in Baltimore at WBAL, 98 Rock, WLIF, ABC2, and Fox 45. Steve Rouse’s voice over business also began in earnest. In 2009, Rousedale Farm in Fallston, Maryland was established. There, Steve, his wife Vicky, and a host of crazy farm hands, grew organic produce and supplied eggs, chicken and honey for some of Baltimore’s restaurants and market customers alike. With yoga on the farm, cooking demonstrations, and a Bed and Breakfast, Rousedale Farm was an area favorite. The farm has been featured in Baltimore Magazine, The City Paper, The Baltimore Sun and other local Harford County publications.
Now retired from the grueling farm work, Steve enjoys his homesteading type of lifestyle, his “Lunch with Steve and Maynard” podcast, and writing humorous autobiographical stories about his life’s adventures.
